As a fan of the original Transformers of the 80’s and the present, I am definitely stoked that Nike and Hasbro teamed up for a fully licensed collabo with three of their shoe models, the Zoom Sharkalaid, Zoom Fp and Zoom Flight Club. It will be released in limited quantities in Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan and the House of Hoops in the US on July 10. For more info check out SOLECOLLECTOR.com
Bambu is one of my favorite MCs from Los Angeles. Had the chance to chill with him a few months ago. A real dope cat who keeps it real 24-7. He doesn’t fake the funk. A positive role model in LA with skills to match. We will definitely sit down with him and do a one on one interview for Black Gold Kartel with Bambu in the near future. Check this heater out.
Pop icon Michael Jackson Dies @ 50 yrs old. Despite all the negative press on Michael Jackson in the past, he was still the shit when it came to entertaining the crowd. As a bboy/popper back in the 80’s he inspired a lot of us with his creativity on the dance floor. His eclectic personality stood out from the rest. Michael Jackson was our generation’s Fred Astaire. RIP MJ & say what up to James Brown…
Los Angeles Streetwear/Contemporary Boutique El Mercado has teamed up with
ELMCOMPANY to produce a run of hats celebrating the long time EL Mercado
emblematic Marisol logo. The hats feature different fabrics from wool blend
and cotton twill to denim. The two tone Marisol logo on the front,
accompanied by the El Mercado text logo embroidered on the back, catches the
vibe of the boutique, located in the heart of mid city Los Angeles. The caps
will be dropping Friday June 26th along with El Mercado’s Summer tee line.
Congratulations to the LA Lakers for taking their 15th NBA title last Sunday. With Kobe Bryant taking the MVP. In celebration, the Lakers paraded from the Staples Center to the LA Coliseum. Downtown looked like a sea of purple & gold.
I took out my camera last night and took pics of what seem to be 2 volcanic eruptions, a UFO hovering over a lake and the downtown skyscrapers as the backdrop.
